Yuan Xikun has built up friendship with famous persons and political personages in the world via painting the sketched portraits of them.

In May of 2001, Yuan Xikun wrote, in an artist capacity, respectively to K.R. Narayanan, the President of the Republic of India, Phan Van Khai, the Primer of Vietnan, Scalfaro, the former President of Italy and Barak, the former Prime Minister of Israel to express his continuation of making great efforts to promote the cultural and artistic exchange between China and their countries and his wish for the success of the capital of his motherland, Beijing’s bid for the Olympic Games and ask them to “pay close attention to and support the Chinese people’s bid for the 2008 Olympic Games. In June when Yuan Xikun crossed the ocean to the United States again, doing, without a word, a cultural diplomat’s work, the letters of these international political personages reached the Jintai Art Museum one after another.
